Health & Safety

A CORE VALUE. A COMMITMENT.

WPC believes that making sure everyone gets home to their family healthy each and every day is both our moral obligation and good business. Our safety efforts are based on our belief that every working person is entitled to a safe and healthful workplace.

Our Commitment

Our commitment to the health and the safety of our employees goes far beyond compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. We recognize that the protection of our employees, our property, the public, and the environment is essential to the efficient and successful completion of every construction project we undertake. Safety is more than a priority at WPC – it is a core value. Our employees understand that safety is not something we consider in addition to the work. It’s how we live, work, and play.

Our Approach

We have adopted an award-winning Accident Prevention Program that includes formal safety training, inspections, audits, and a formalized system of reporting. We train our managers, supervisors, and employees to identify and correct potential unsafe conditions and, more importantly, evaluate work practices and job hazards before an activity begins. At West Point Contractors we recognize that accidents should be unusual and rare events, and that most are preventable.

The strong safety culture that West Point has developed supports and encourages our employees to watch out for themselves and one another. Our programs maintain active participation from management and supervisory personnel. We reinforce the belief that accident prevention has the same value as quality, morale, cost, schedule, environment, and production.
