Past Performance - Building Construction, Renovation, and Repair

Project Description

The Bureau of Indian Affairs owns several facilities and domiciles throughout the Navajo Nation. Many of these quarters had not been renovated in 40+ years, and were in desperate need of a variety of plumbing, cabinet, window, electrical and roof repairs. West Point Contractors, Inc. (WPC) was contracted to provide the design and renovation of several government-owned facilities and quarters throughout the Navajo Nation, spanning across the northern areas of Arizona and New Mexico. WPC contracted roofers, electricians and plumbers to make the necessary repairs to the facilities while utilizing its own forces for demolition, rough and finish carpentry, window installation, cabinetry, stucco and paint. This project was unique in that many of the residents continued to reside in the quarters, and working hours were limited to 6 hours/day inside the home, along with moving furniture and other items to perform the work. Scheduling and public relations were critical in providing a quality project to the resident, facility managers, and government. The design entailed shingle and metal roofing systems, as well as cabinetry for the individual units. WPC used our in-house engineers to perform the cabinetry designs, and had our roofing subcontractor design the roofing systems that were to be installed.
