Project Description

This project involves Multiple Barracks Modification Project for Buildings 572, 554, 555, 570, 584, 585, and 586 at Marine Recruit Depot San Diego, CA. The purpose of this project was to provide an enhanced protective railing system around each area where there is a balcony, stairwell, or access way on the third deck of each barracks. Construction involved removing or modifying all railings on the third deck of each barracks. The scope of work involved permanently replacing or modifying bars on balconies, access areas, and exterior stairwells where there is not sufficient protection. Work was done on buildings 572, 554, 555, 570, 584, 585 and 586. Crews installed approximately 92 steel guard rails.

• Existing guard rails were cut for removal
• Installed 260 linear feet of prefabricated structural schedule 40 steel pipe
