Tucson Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) Storage Mezzanine

Project Description

West Point  served as the Prime Contractor on this project performed at the operational and occupied Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) in Tucson, AZ. Performed for the Department of Veterans Affairs, the project consisted of the construction of a new 5,825-SF mezzanine addition inside an existing 54,979-SF building. The new mezzanine provides additional outpatient pharmacy storage for the SAVAHS. The project scope included a new exterior HVAC unit, duct work, fire suppression system, new lighting, and new material lift. The medical facilities remained operational during construction, including portions of the building immediately adjacent to the construction zone. West Point erected and maintained temporary measures for safety, infection control, and protection, including hard wall barriers, barricades, warning devices, entry portals, as necessary to protect hospital patients, employees, visitors, and omedical property and equipment during all construction activities. The SAVAHCS 295-bed inpatient hospital and outpatient clinics serve more 171,000 veterans and has more than 2,500 health care professionals and support staff providing primary care and specialty health care services. Annually, the hospital averages more than 8,700 inpatients, more than 5,100 surgeries, and more than 680,000 outpatient visits.
